Mende Nikolai Fedorovich (1906-1975)

Soviet architect.

He was born in the Ukraine. Mende graduated from Kharkov Civil Engineering Institute after that he was sent to work in Ivanovo. He worked in “Ivproekt”. Mende went to war in 1941, took part in the battle of Moscow after which he was wounded and invalided out to Ivanovo. He was the main architect of Ivanovo (1942-1966). In 1952 the block of flats IvTETS-1 was built on the corner of Markhlevskogo and Krasnykh Zor Streets.
